this way too expensive book is merely a compilation of techniques that can be found on each flash-related website on the net. if you would like to waste your money – this is a great way to do so. Absolutely useless book both for beginners and experts.

I can appreciate a well designed book but if it gets in the way of being practical forget about it. Lots of wasted space and funky confusing layouts. The graphics at the bottom are misleading as to the lessons. Repeates the same info. Could have done the book for a lot cheaper and knocked down the price.
I’ve found a few errors so far such as a wrong key command which make things most frustrating when trying to learn.
A CD would have been nice to go along with the lessons no …..?
Granted, there are some great tips and design concepts but overall it’s proving to be an annoying Macromedia ad.

If the whole focus of his book is design, then Hillman Curtis has lost something in the translation from web page to printed page. Though most of the Flash examples he shows you are very well designed, the book itself is not and at times competes visually with the web sites he is trying to show off. Many of the book’s type devices seem dated and not up to par with the Flash examples. Perhaps the designers of the book were thinking too much about motion graphics design and forgot about book design?

Examples are very attractive, so I can devote my precious time to this book. I don’t care about no CD. Read this book, and boost your imagination. Important thing is whether you can create site at your will. I think this book is companion for my journey to good web design. Thank you for reading. Bye.
