Do you need a BS Degree in Graphic Design in order to attend Grad School for Graphic Design?

I’m a senior majoring in Business Adminstration and a concentration in Marketing. I’m planning on pursuing a Master’s Degree in Graphic Design. I never took any classes pertaining to Graphic Design. I would like to know if I have to have a degree in Graphic Design in order to attend Grad School for Graphic Design.

Usually when you attend a graduate school that is for a field such as graphic design they will ask you for a portfolio of previous work so they can see if you are good enough to contribute positively to the program. Oftentimes people will get a bachelors in a related field as this requires them to create a fair number of projects to include in a work portfolio that not only showcases their current skill level but also illustrates their ability to learn and adapt their work according to those lessons. Really, it’s up to the particular program that you’re looking at joining. If you DO have a portfolio of previous works then you’re probably set but if you don’t it may be very difficult/impossible for you to join. I’d say talk to an advisor or read their site and application thoroughly to get a better answer than anyone on here will be able to give you.
